This week we introduced their major ALERT architecture project. We took a virtual tour of the downtown Bull Street area where students will be "building" their homes.
We discussed the methods for completing a project, working in phases much like building a building. We began with a "sampling" phase where students found multiple examples of houses that looked interesting to them. They then began the process of sketching each house to decide whether or not it would actually work for them. In the week of November 18-22 students will be making a final decision on the house they will build for their project. Voting for North Springs Haunted House Sketching Contest concluded on Friday the 15th. Winners will be announced each day in ALERT class.

In ALERT this week students practiced their reading, vocabulary, and writing skills by completing a webquest on the Postmodern Architecture style.
