Studying architecture allows students to learn about mathematics, science, design, art, engineering, and history all at the same time. In mathematics it not only incorporates ever facet of geometry from shapes and their properties and angle measures to area and perimeter, but also how 2D shapes correlate to 3D shapes.
If you visit Washington D.C. there are tons of opportunities to see great architecture. Most of the famous buildings are either Federal or Greek Revivial style. However, possibly the most famous building on the National Mall, the Smithsonian Visitor Center (called the Castle) was built in Medieval/Gothic Revival style, specifically to stand out amongst the other buildings.
