ALERT students at Conder took notes in the form of diagrams to help them understand our Habits of Mind lesson. The diagrams note how we strive for accuracy and precision - our video/activity involved trying to hit a target. Accuracy was our ability to hit the target, precision was our ability to be consistent about where our tries landed. Students also solved variable equations and used graph paper to solve for area and perimeter. They found it interesting having to work backwards, when the problem gave them the area and they had to figure out the sides of the shape. We also took a mini-field trip around the school to find examples of architecture vocabulary. In case you didn't know, Conder not only has columns, but also stucco, and a belt course of bricks.
